Are we close to the point of no return?
Echoing Archimedes’ famous quip “give me a lever and a place to stand, and I will move the Earth”, journalist Malcolm Gladwell introduced the wider public to the concept of a tipping point.
Our planet might seem like an unshakable rock. The oceans, the continents, the sky, all look eternal. The nature around us appears mighty. Yet, all is not as it seems. Given the right circumstances, even the slightest of pushes can set it out of whack.
