PUCN Public Comment - Sol-Up Solar

On Monday, November 16, the Public Utilities Commission of Nevada has scheduled a public comment session on its agenda regarding the vote on the future rates and incentives for energy in Nevada. In August of this year, the PUCN voted unanimously to extend the net metering incentives to the end of the year at their current rate. Therefore, the comments from the public will help influence their decision when they meet again from November 18 to November 20.

Sol-Up encourages all solar energy supporters, those who have solar installed and those who are considering going solar in the near future, to join us and voice support for solar energy in Nevada. The public comment hearing will take place on Monday, November 16 at 9:00 a.m. at 9075 W. Diablo Drive, Suite 250 Las Vegas, Nevada 89147.

The solar energy industry has the potential to impact Las Vegas and Nevada on a grand scale. Not only will solar energy help the economy by creating jobs but it will also have a strong impact on education. During a recent interview, Frank Rieger, our company’s CEO discussed the many opportunities that a robust solar energy program contributes to the increase of high skilled jobs for which students can study at local community colleges and universities in Las Vegas and throughout the U.S.
He said, “The U.S. needs high skilled workplaces and higher education. Both are crucial for the further development of this country because to be ahead of other countries, to be richer than other countries, we have to be better at doing things. So that means we need to provide good education and provide the jobs. Solar energy has the opportunity to impact education and job creation in this country.”
Solar energy needs our government’s support in order for it to continue to serve the people of Nevada. Please join us at the public hearing on November 16 at 9:00 a.m. and show your support. If you cannot attend, we encourage you to voice your opinion on our social media platforms. Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/SolUpUSA and Twitter: https://twitter.com/solupusa
