From her dazzling career as a big band singer, rubbing shoulders with greats like Russ Morgan and Rowan and Martin, to her iconic movie roles in “Gentlemen Prefer Blondes” and “In Harms Way”, Manon has truly lived a life of glamour and fame. But her heart found its true calling in Hawaii where she met the love of her life, Edwin Hamile, a renowned band leader and jazz musician. Over the years, she not only became the inaugural Mrs. Hawaii but also spearheaded numerous restaurants and clubs. Her stint as the spokesperson and Master of Ceremonies for Nichiren Shōshū saw her serenading audiences with vintage Japanese and Okinawan songs. Today, she’s dedicated to philanthropy and “talking story” about the nostalgic days of Hawaii.
