WHAT: The public is invited to help the volunteer-run Wylie Animal Rescue Foundation (WARF) on Thursday, December 5, 2024 during an online fundraising event!

In an effort to reduce the long-term costs of operating the sanctuary and to provide a sustainable home for animals left behind by most shelters, WARF is in the process of “going green” by adding solar power capability to its Stagecoach, Nevada facility. This is a significant step for the foundation’s future.

Thanks to the generous efforts of Sol-Up which has donated roughly $30,000 in solar infrastructure to the foundation, WARF is closer than ever to meeting its goal to cover the cost of the solar system. By reducing its carbon footprint and significantly reducing utility costs over the next few decades, WARF can put additional funds towards assisting the animals in its care now and in the future.

Each year, WARF spends approximately $160,000 to provide medical treatment, veterinary care, medication, food and to pay staff who care for a wide range of animals. WARF is hoping to raise $15,000 during Thursday’s fundraising event.

Additionally, Sol-Up is going to match donations made by the public up to $2,000.
HOW TO DONATE: The public can donate immediately at the Wylie Animal Rescue Foundation Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/tahoeWARF
On Thursday, December 5, 2024 between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m., the public will be able to follow the live stream fundraising effort via the WARF Facebook page. The live streaming fundraising event is coordinated through Jordan’s Way Charities which is holding fundraising events at shelters across the country in an effort to highlight the needs of these vital organizations.

ABOUT WARF: The Wylie Animal Rescue Foundation helps those animals that fall through he cracks at other shelters and that would otherwise be destined for euthanasia. WARF does not discriminate against the animals it accepts due to age, disability, breed, behavior, size, or color. WARF is run by volunteers so that every penny goes directly to helping animals.
