Introduction: Sol-Up Joins Dancing In The Street 2023
We at Sol-Up were thrilled to be a part of the annual Dancing In The Street festival, a dazzling event that transformed Reno’s Virginia Street into a living, breathing dance floor. This unforgettable event was held on July 6, 2023, and it was nothing short of extraordinary! Here’s a recap of what made this festival a highlight of the summer.
The Vibrant Melody of Dancing In The Street
One of the key highlights was the layout itself—six different stages were set up along the entirety of Virginia Street, each belting out a different genre of music. From rock to reggae, country to EDM, there was something for everyone. It wasn’t just a festival; it was a musical journey, encouraging everyone to dance up and down Midtown Reno, engaging with the city in a brand-new way.
Dancing In The Street: A Platform for Charity
Sol-Up is more than just a vendor that offers solar solutions; we believe in contributing to the betterment of society. We are proud supporters of various charitable organizations, and some of them were present at the event too! Among these was Feeding Pets Of The Homeless, a remarkable charity that provides pet food, sleeping crates, and emergency veterinary services funding for people across the country experiencing homelessness.
We were not only there to talk about the benefits of solar energy but also to direct some of the day’s positivity toward these charitable causes. A portion of the proceeds from each sale we made during the event will go directly to support these life-changing organizations.
The Intersection of Art and Sustainability: Sol-Up’s Muralist Competition
In a bid to marry art and sustainability, Sol-Up hosted a competition between three local muralists, each with the mission of creating a painting related to solar sustainability. The live-art contest attracted a lot of eyes and created a parallel attraction alongside the main event.
Winner Announcement: Amaya Rodriguez Keir Captures the Solar Essence
The winner of our muralist competition was Amaya Rodriguez Keir, a local nature muralist whose painting stole the show. She created a mesmerizing painting featuring Sahara desert succulents thriving under the vivid, life-giving sun.
As a token of appreciation and to promote the importance of sustainability, the prize for the winning art is twofold: not only does Amaya receive $1,000, but her artwork will also be used for a future postcard promoting Sol-Up’s solar solutions.
Conclusion: Dancing In The Street—More Than Just A Festival
Dancing In The Street 2023 was a monumental event that had it all: music, community, charity, and art. We were honored to be a part of it and can’t wait for what next year has in store!
For those who joined us in making this event a spectacular success, we extend our deepest thanks. Let’s keep dancing, keep contributing, and above all, let’s keep the sun shining both metaphorically and literally with the power of solar energy.
